Accounts Payable Accountant – Hotel Finance

About the role

Palacina The Residence & The Suites, a leading boutique luxury hotel in Nairobi, is looking for a detail‑oriented Accounts Payable Accountant to join its Finance Department. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will ensure timely and accurate payments to suppliers while upholding strong financial controls.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices accurately and promptly.
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare payment schedules and perform payment reconciliations.
• Verify that all invoices are authorized and supported by proper documentation.
• Maintain creditor records and filing systems.
• Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to the General Ledger.
• Assist with month‑end closing and financial reporting.
• Liaise professionally with suppliers and internal departments.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of accounts payable experience, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
• High attention to detail, strong organizational and time‑management skills.
• Integrity, professionalism and ability to handle confidential information.

Required skills

• OPERA PMS (essential).
• Material Control (MC) (essential).
• SUN Systems accounting software (essential).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
