Analyst, Care Management - Uganda Coverage (Temporary Contract)

About the role

Heritage Insurance, an insurance company affiliated with Liberty Group, is looking for an Analyst for Care Management covering Uganda on a temporary contract. The role holder coordinates care management and wellness, manages providers, runs member education and acts as in-country liaison for Heritage Insurance in Uganda, reporting to the Manager, Care Management.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain good relationships with providers, intermediaries and clients in Uganda to ensure service satisfaction.
• Work with the provider relations team to recruit new service providers and negotiate their service fees according to Heritage rates and customary fees.
• Coordinate provider audits to ensure quality services are delivered to Heritage clients.
• Enforce compliance with Heritage rules on member access, policy exclusions and panel rates.
• Collaborate with Underwriting/Actuarial to prepare a monthly utilization report on provider performance and develop cost-containment measures.
• Issue pre-authorizations for Ugandan clients following standard operating procedures.
• Train providers on service access procedures and updates to health products, processes and claim policies.
• Negotiate discounts with providers and close finance reconciliations.
• Liaise internally with other sections to resolve provider-related issues and coordinate wellness, member education and client engagement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Nursing, Clinical Medicine, Pharmacy or another medical-related discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in provider relations within medical insurance, hospitals or a related industry.

Required skills

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Good analytical skills.
• Computer literacy in MS Office and Excel.
• Good knowledge of provider dynamics and the provider landscape.
