About the role
Kericho County Public Service Board is recruiting two pharmacists under Job Group M. The position is permanent and pensionable, and involves screening prescriptions, dispensing medicines and advising patients.
Key responsibilities
- Screen prescriptions for legal validity, drug contraindications, drug interactions and appropriate dose, frequency and duration.
- Prepare and dispense medicines according to Good Dispensing Practices and counsel patients on their use.
- Make extemporaneous preparations.
- Participate in ward rounds and identify medicinal gaps and challenges.
- Maintain a daily activity log book and make entries in inventory management records and registers.
- Recommend over-the-counter medicines for simple conditions and make referrals where needed.
Required profile
- Bachelor of Pharmacy degree (B Pharm) from an institution recognized by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
- Successfully completed one year of internship from a recognized institution.
- Registration certificate from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
- Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
