Area Collections Executive

About the role

The Area Collections Executive is responsible for managing delinquent accounts, converting them into current customers, and ensuring repayment compliance through client visits, collection calls, and strategic follow‑ups.

Key responsibilities

• Convert delinquent accounts to current customers via visits and collection calls.
• Collaborate with Area Business Managers and Field Sales Executives/Energy Officers to minimise default rates.
• Identify, report and investigate suspected fraud or tampering cases.
• Escalate complex cases to the Fraud Management team.
• Train field agents on risk processes, collection techniques and repossession.
• Drive operating rhythm to ensure timely collection calls and repossession tasks.
• Analyse portfolio and repayment trends to devise daily, weekly and monthly collection strategies.
• Conduct mystery market visits to assess sales quality and gather insights.
• Provide weekly updates to Sales and Risk teams on field interventions and results.
• Design and operationalise collection processes to improve repayments and customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Criminology or related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in collections, fraud identification or investigation.
• Experience in credit management, preferably within MFI, bank, fintech or PAYGO.
• Strong people‑relation and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
• Good planning and organisational skills.
