Area Manager for humanitarian programmes in Marsabit

About the role

The Area Manager will lead Concern Worldwide’s humanitarian programmes in Marsabit County, overseeing technical quality, day‑to‑day implementation, and coordination with local authorities and partners. Reporting to the Programme Coordinator, the role serves as the senior representative of Concern at the county level.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership for programme implementation, ensuring alignment with donor guidelines and Concern’s policies.
• Develop and manage costed quarterly work plans and monitor budget utilisation.
• Coordinate recruitment, procurement and logistics plans with HR and operations teams.
• Engage with County health, water and education departments to initiate and monitor activities.
• Lead a team of officers (Health & Nutrition, WASH, Education), providing technical mentorship, performance management and capacity building.
• Oversee monitoring, evaluation and learning activities, including field visits and documentation of programme outcomes.
• Represent Concern in external stakeholder meetings, ensuring meaningful community engagement and compliance with humanitarian standards.
