Programme Officer - Health and Nutrition

About the role

The Programme Officer will provide technical guidance and hands‑on support to Sub‑County Health Management Teams in Marsabit and Tana River Counties. The role focuses on strengthening capacity to implement High Impact Nutrition Interventions (HINI) through an integrated health‑systems approach.

Key responsibilities

• Lead County health departments and local partners in delivering HINI, IMAM services, MIYCN, BFCI, Family MUAC and other nutrition interventions at facility and community levels.
• Develop and implement monthly work plans with Sub‑County Health Management Teams and monitor progress against outputs.
• Support rural health facilities to establish referral systems and ensure adequate therapeutic commodity supplies.
• Participate in data collection for KPC, SMART and coverage surveys and conduct joint supervision visits.
• Prepare weekly briefs, monthly and quarterly reports and represent Concern in sub‑county technical forums.

Required profile

• Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or Nursing with at least three years’ experience in maternal and child health and nutrition programming.
• Valid KNDI licence or Nursing Council practising licence.
• Experience working in ASAL contexts and familiarity with MOH systems at sub‑county level.
