Assistant Engineer II (Water and Sewerage) – 2 Posts

About the role

The County Government of Elgeyo Marakwet is recruiting two Assistant Engineers II for water and sewerage. The post holder plans, designs and monitors water supply and sewerage systems, takes part in project forums and advises contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out feasibility studies for water supply and sewerage systems
• Plan and design water supply and sewerage systems
• Carry out research in water, sewerage and hydraulics
• Participate in public participation forums on water and sewerage projects
• Write monthly reports on the status of water and sewerage projects
• Represent the department in stakeholder meetings as directed by the supervisor
• Write concept notes for proposed water and sewerage projects
• Monitor projects routinely, give technical advice to contractors and carry out inspections and inspection reports
• Engage development partners in the area of jurisdiction
• Mentor staff through on-the-job training initiatives

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution
• Registered by the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya as a Graduate Engineer
• Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution
