Assistant Manager – Finance & Accounts

About the role

We are growing and need an Assistant Manager to own our financial books, maintain cash flow visibility, and turn numbers into strategic decisions. You will work closely with directors and the CEO in a fast‑paced start‑up environment, bringing ideas to life and ensuring financial integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Manage Zoho Books, perform reconciliations and produce timely month‑end accounts.
• Oversee petty cash, payment controls, budgets and expenditure tracking.
• Maintain daily cash visibility, rolling cash‑flow forecasts and corporate invoicing.
• Prepare ledgers, trial balance, profit & loss reporting and tax/statutory compliance via iTax.
• Coordinate with KRA, external accountants, auditors, banks, customers and internal teams.

Required profile

• At least five years of relevant finance/accounting experience.
• Completed CPA(K), ACCA or equivalent professional qualification.
• Strong ownership mindset with the confidence to question entries.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Practical experience with Kenyan tax and statutory compliance.
• Proficiency in accounting software; Zoho Books preferred.
