Senior Accountant – FinTech Finance Role

About the role

The Senior Accountant will ensure accurate, timely and compliant financial operations supporting payments, fintech and revenue collection activities in a high‑volume transaction environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and reconcile merchant/partner payments, bank and settlement accounts.
• Oversee supplier payments, maintain the general ledger and post journal entries.
• Support payroll processing and ensure statutory deductions and regulatory filings are completed on time.
• Assist in preparing management accounts, regulatory reports, annual budgets and variance analyses.
• Maintain financial documentation, prepare for external audits and improve financial systems and controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
• CPA (K) / ACCA or equivalent qualification (completed or finalist).
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in fintech, payments, banking or revenue collection.
• Strong analytical ability, high attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Bank and settlement reconciliation expertise.
• Experience with Sage Evolution or similar ERP systems.
• Thorough understanding of Kenyan tax and statutory compliance.
