Assistant Operations Manager - Security Operations

About the role

Q-Sourcing Limited, trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec, is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African region (Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and South Sudan). On behalf of its client, a leading company in the security industry, it is recruiting an Assistant Operations Manager to work in Nairobi. The role supports the Operations Manager in overseeing daily security operations, supervising security personnel and protecting clients' assets and premises, and includes stepping in for the manager when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Operations Manager in planning, coordinating and supervising security operations across assigned posts.
• Prepare and review duty rosters to ensure full shift coverage.
• Conduct regular site visits and inspections to check guard performance and compliance with post orders and SOPs.
• Document and report incidents accurately and promptly, and follow up on corrective actions.
• Hold security briefings and train guards on protocols, emergency responses and customer service.
• Respond to client inquiries, complaints and service issues, escalating complex matters to the Operations Manager.
• Address operational issues as they arise and keep accurate operational records.
• Deputize the Operations Manager in their absence.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Criminology, Security Management or a related field.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in security operations, including 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
• Excellent observational and analytical abilities, and clear communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
