Assistant Procurement Officer – Mining Site

About the role

The Assistant Procurement Officer will manage the transactional procurement cycle at the West Pokot Mine Site, turning approved requisitions into draft purchase orders, collecting quotations, expediting deliveries and maintaining audit‑ready records under the supervision of the Procurement Officer.

Key responsibilities

• Convert approved requisitions into accurate draft purchase orders within 24 hours.
• Collect, compare and document competitive quotations for all purchases.
• Maintain a real‑time purchase order register and track deliveries to completion.
• Ensure all procurement files are complete, accurate and ready for audit.
• Escalate any supplier pressure, safety concerns or process gaps promptly.

Required profile

• Commitment to zero‑tolerance procurement integrity and adherence to company policies.
• Ability to work under remote‑site pressure while maintaining process discipline.
• Strong attention to detail and personal accountability for transaction accuracy.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems for purchase order creation.
• Basic understanding of procurement documentation and audit standards.
