About the role
The Procurement Officer will lead procurement activities at the West Pokot Mine Site, ensuring timely delivery of materials, spares, consumables, fuel and services while maintaining strict compliance and integrity.
Key responsibilities
- Own site sourcing decisions within delegated authority, manage competitive quotations, tenders and supplier performance.
- Coordinate critical supply planning with Maintenance and Stores, and maintain a vetted local supplier register.
- Supervise the Assistant Procurement Officer, reviewing purchase orders, contracts and clearing backlogs within the first 30 days.
- Enforce procurement controls, segregation of duties and zero‑tolerance corruption policies.
Required profile
- Demonstrated experience in procurement within a mining or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of procurement policies, delegation of authority and supplier performance management.
- Ability to work in a remote site, build local supplier networks and uphold safety and ethical standards.
