Assistant Relationship Manager, Mid-SME Banking

About the role

I&M Bank is hiring a full-time Assistant Relationship Manager (ARM) for its Mid-SME banking business. The ARM works with allocated Relationship Managers to originate, structure and service Mid-SME customers and portfolios, sharing the credit preparation, documentation, portfolio monitoring and customer service workload. The role is also a primary development pipeline for future Relationship Managers.

Key responsibilities

• Originate and grow the paired portfolio: support the RM on customer acquisition, deposits, asset growth, fee income and cross-sell, prospect leads and maintain an accurate pipeline, and prepare meeting packs, proposals and pricing.
• Prepare credit applications and appraisal memos, analyse financials (cash flow, DSCR, gearing) and highlight risks and mitigants.
• Track facility conditions, covenant compliance, renewals and security perfection, and monitor account conduct and arrears daily.
• Support recovery and restructuring of stressed accounts with the RM and Credit.
• Serve as the day-to-day contact for customers and coordinate with Credit, Operations, Legal and Trade teams to meet SLAs.
• Convert branch referrals into Mid-SME business and guide branch teams on product requirements and documentation.
• Comply with credit policy, KYC/AML and data protection, keep CRM and pipeline records accurate, and submit activity and performance reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a business-related field; progress towards a professional qualification (CPA, ACIB or similar) is an added advantage.
• At least 3 years' banking experience, including at least 2 years in credit, SME or commercial banking.
• Demonstrated ability in credit analysis and preparation of credit memos.
