Associate Data Engineering Manager

About the role

Booksy is a fast‑growing, cloud‑based marketplace that connects independent business owners with customers. As an Associate Data Engineering Manager, you will lead a small team of data engineers while staying hands‑on with the technology that powers our analytics platform.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of 2‑4 data engineers.
• Run agile ceremonies such as sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Own the team’s quarterly OKRs and delivery commitments.
• Design, build, and review high‑quality dbt models and data pipelines on Google Cloud BigQuery.
• Ensure data reliability, performance, and readiness for downstream consumption.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on data engineering experience.
• Initial leadership experience (tech lead, mentoring, or guiding small groups).
• Proven ability to work in an agile environment and take ownership of delivery.
• Professional fluency in English (minimum B2 level).

Required skills

• Production‑level experience with dbt and Google Cloud BigQuery.
• Expert‑level SQL proficiency.
• Strong Python scripting for pipeline orchestration.
• Experience with Airflow or Cloud Composer.
