Benefits Manager

About the role

The Benefits Manager oversees day‑to‑day operations of the Benefits Administration team, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant processing of employee benefits. This role provides supervision, guidance and support to Benefits Specialists while collaborating closely with Payroll, Accounting and insurance carriers.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise Benefits Specialists, providing coaching, performance feedback and workload management.
• Serve as escalation point for complex benefit and payroll issues, reviewing and approving qualifying life events, deductions and manual enrollments.
• Partner with Payroll and Billing to resolve benefit‑related discrepancies and ensure accurate employer contributions.
• Oversee audits of benefit enrollments and payroll deductions, documenting and correcting discrepancies.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, FAQs and process documentation, identifying gaps and driving operational improvements.

Required profile

• Associate degree or equivalent with 2‑5 years of managerial group benefit experience.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and decision‑making abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Proven leadership skills with experience training and mentoring high‑performing teams.
