Branch Accountant

About the role

Victoria Homestore is looking for a detail-oriented, hands-on Branch Accountant for a full-time role in Kisumu. The accountant acts as the control centre of each branch, keeping cash, stock and records accurate, compliant and efficient in a fast-moving retail environment. Key responsibilities

• Cash management: monitor daily cash collections, reconcile cash, M-Pesa and bank deposits daily, follow cash-handling policies and resolve cash variances immediately.
• Stock and inventory: keep system and physical stock aligned, track inbound, transfers, sales and returns, lead regular stock counts and audits, and flag discrepancies.
• Damaged goods: track damaged, missing or misplaced stock, maintain a log and work with operations to reduce losses.
• Systems compliance: ensure transactions are captured accurately in ERP systems, keep data integrity across sales, stock and finance records, and generate daily, weekly and monthly branch reports while supporting audits.
• Team leadership: lead and guide stock clerks and support teams on stock handling, cleanliness, organisation and compliance standards.
• Price tickets and product coding: make sure products are correctly coded and displayed with accurate, up-to-date price tickets.
• Product readiness: oversee safe assembly of furniture so that quality, display and coding standards are met and the showroom floor is always sellable.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• CPA Part 3 or above preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience in retail accounting, stock control or finance.
• Experience working with ERP systems in a fast-paced environment.
