Branch Manager - Nyeri (Automotive)

About the role

Stratostaff East Africa is recruiting a Branch Manager for its automotive branch in Nyeri. The post sits in the Administration department, reports to the Group Managing Director and covers all branch operations so as to increase sales, profitability and market share while improving customer and employee satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Direct all operational aspects of the branch, including customer service, human resources, sales, workshop and parts activities.
• Assess local market conditions and work with the teams to close sales opportunities for new vehicles, service and parts.
• Work with the Sales Manager on the annual new vehicle sales budget and with the GM Parts on potential parts sub-dealers in the region.
• Enforce functional policies and standard operating procedures with guidance from Head Office, and keep daily, weekly and month-end reports flowing to Head Office.
• Oversee financial management, including WIP, debt collection, supplier payments and certification of accounting documents such as LPOs and petty cash.
• Ensure departments are properly staffed, monitor and appraise staff, and handle employee and customer concerns promptly.
• Hold weekly branch management and departmental meetings, manage facilities maintenance and oversee security and health and safety.
• Maintain the Quality Management System in line with ISO9001:2015 and carry out any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree.
• 10 years of progressive experience in the functional area, including 5 years at management level.
• Knowledge of the company's products and services.
• Experience monitoring the marketplace and applying effective selling strategies.
• Strong leadership, excellent verbal and written communication, and ability to work with a wide range of people.

Required skills

• Demonstrated competence in profit and loss management.
• Ability to collect and analyse data and to work with numbers.
• Good decision-making aptitude and integrity.
