Budget Analyst

About the role

The Budget Analyst will support the National Land Imaging program within the U.S. Geological Survey, providing financial management and analysis for satellite mission budgets.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in formulation, execution, and tracking of the NLI program budget.
• Conduct fiscal analysis and coordinate fund allocations across appropriated, reimbursable, and multi‑year satellite mission budgets.
• Monitor, reconcile, and report on multi‑source accounts and inter‑agency agreements, including year‑end close‑outs and variance analyses.
• Represent the program in bureau‑level financial and operational working groups and coordinate with regional and cost‑center leadership.
• Guide support staff on business processes and execute special projects in support of program leadership.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship.
• Pass a background investigation and E‑Verify employment verification.
• Selective Service registration for males born after 12‑31‑1959.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a government charge card for travel and purchases.
• Willingness to travel up to five nights per month and complete a one‑year probationary period.
