Building Manager - Navy Gateway Inns & Suites

About the role

Amentum is recruiting a Building Manager for Navy Gateway Inns & Suites (NGIS) in Mombasa, Westlands. The role oversees the day-to-day operations of the lodging facilities, keeping them compliant with Navy lodging standards, policies and operational requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage building maintenance, housekeeping, front desk operations and guest services to keep the lodging environment clean, safe and high quality.
• Conduct regular facility inspections to spot maintenance needs, safety hazards and quality-of-life improvements.
• Coordinate corrective and preventive maintenance with engineering, maintenance and contracted service teams.
• Maintain accurate records and reports on occupancy, maintenance, work orders, inspections and supply usage.
• Ensure proper inventory management of supplies, equipment, furnishings and materials.
• Train, mentor and oversee staff in housekeeping, customer service and facility support.
• Support guest relations by addressing concerns and resolving issues.
• Implement and enforce safety, environmental and quality standards across operations.
• Communicate operational updates, facility conditions and issues to supervisors and Navy leadership.

Required profile

• 5 years of experience in lodging management, hotel operations, facility management or related hospitality environments.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certifications in hospitality, facility management or business administration preferred.
• Valid passport, able to travel internationally, with the passport valid at least one year beyond the hire date.
• Ability to meet and maintain contract medical requirements and to obtain and maintain facility credentials during the assignment.
