Claims Manager

About the role

The Claims Manager will lead a combined claims operation covering both legal and non‑legal matters for Kenya Orient Insurance. Reporting directly to senior management, the role ensures that claims are reserved, approved, settled and reported in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Set and enforce standards for claims reserving, approval and settlement.
• Control claims costs by preparing budgets, negotiating payables and collaborating with Finance and Actuarial teams.
• Produce accurate, timely claims reports for regulators and reinsurers.
• Lead and mentor claims teams, ensuring high performance and compliance.
• Negotiate with external service providers and review claims data for risk and fraud signals.

Required profile

• Diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 9 years (108 months) of experience in insurance claims management.
• Strong knowledge of insurance regulations and loss‑ratio management.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage stakeholder relationships.
