Cleaning Supervisor

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time Cleaning Supervisor in Kisumu. The supervisor coordinates and oversees daily cleaning operations across assigned facilities, ensures hygiene standards are met, manages cleaning staff and keeps quality and safety records.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise daily cleaning activities so that all areas are cleaned according to schedules and standards.
• Inspect offices, washrooms, floors and common areas regularly, and act quickly on identified gaps.
• Assign daily duties to cleaners, monitor attendance, punctuality, grooming, conduct and productivity, and train staff on procedures, customer service, equipment use, chemical handling and workplace safety.
• Ensure staff follow approved procedures and hygiene standards, and check the safe use, storage and handling of chemicals, equipment and PPE.
• Maintain cleaning quality records and report safety hazards, accidents, damaged equipment or incidents to management.
• Monitor supplies, consumables and equipment, record shortages and wastage, and keep equipment well maintained.
• Communicate professionally with clients, site representatives and facility management teams, resolve customer complaints and give regular updates on site performance.
• Prepare daily, weekly or monthly reports on attendance, activities, site conditions and incidents, and support management in performance evaluation and training needs.

Required profile

• KCSE certificate or a certificate in Cleaning, Housekeeping, Hospitality, Facilities Management, Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.
• At least 2 years' experience in a professional cleaning company, including at least 6 months in a supervisory role.
• Demonstrated experience supervising cleaning teams, coordinating schedules, conducting quality inspections and managing day-to-day site operations.

Required skills

• Ability to inspect work, identify gaps and maintain consistently high cleaning and hygiene standards.
• Strong communication skills to handle staff issues, customer concerns and operational challenges professionally.
