Coach – MindSKILLZ Programme (Kenya)

About the role

The MindSKILLZ Coach will deliver a play‑based mental health promotion programme for adolescents in Nairobi and Mombasa. Working under the supervision of a Programme Officer, you will help young people build social‑emotional skills, strengthen resilience and access timely mental‑health support.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Lvcthealth staff, schools and community groups to recruit eligible adolescents.
• Complete the MindSKILLZ Training of Coaches, covering adolescent mental health, facilitation, safeguarding and referral pathways.
• Deliver the full MindSKILLZ curriculum using youth‑centered, strengths‑based approaches.
• Prepare session materials, organise equipment and ensure a safe learning environment.
• Co‑facilitate sessions with a partner, reflect on delivery and continuously improve.
• Identify signs of emotional distress and follow safeguarding procedures.
• Facilitate referrals to appropriate mental‑health, psychosocial and social services.
• Maintain accurate attendance records, administer programme assessments and support monitoring and evaluation.

• Strong communication and facilitation skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and ethical practice.
