Consultant – Last Mile Delivery, Gender & e-Mobility

About the role

The Sustainable Mobility Unit is seeking a consultant to support a range of gender‑focused and zero‑emission delivery initiatives. Working under the Programme Management Officer for Gender, the consultant will produce reports, case studies, communication materials and event support for the Deliver‑E Coalition and UNEP Global Electric Mobility Programme.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare a report defining third‑party logistics, self‑delivery, individual contractors and other delivery modalities.
• Develop six brief case studies highlighting lessons learned in zero‑emission food and grocery delivery.
• Create four outreach and communication products for Deliver‑E activities.
• Design a communications plan and launch concept for the Deliver‑E Baseline Assessment.
• Draft a proposal for a Deliver‑E Coalition event at COP31.
• Conceptualise a zero‑emission delivery city guidebook.
• Produce a UNEP Global Electric Mobility Programme communications booklet showcasing country‑level projects.
• Lead a communication campaign to showcase programme activities, results and impacts.
• Support organisation and delivery of two gender‑focused events in India and Nairobi.
• Maintain and update gender data collection database (Output 1) and ensure its accessibility.
• Assist with updates to the Global Electric Mobility Programme website.
• Contribute to the development of a web‑tool for the Used EV and Battery End‑of‑Life Regulatory Toolbox for LMICs.
• Support the creation of webpages for the Used EVs and Battery end‑of‑life workstream and the Global Partnership on EV Battery Circularity.
