Coordinator of Volunteers

About the role

The Coordinator of Volunteers is a full‑time hybrid position based in Nakuru, Kenya, with some work‑from‑home flexibility. The role involves recruiting, orienting and scheduling volunteers to support the organization’s programs and events.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, orient and schedule volunteers for various programs and events.
• Organise and deliver volunteer training sessions.
• Maintain accurate volunteer records and ensure clear communication between volunteers and staff.
• Develop and implement volunteer engagement strategies.
• Support community outreach initiatives and monitor volunteer performance and feedback.

Required profile

• Ability to effectively manage and coordinate volunteers.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in community outreach and event support.
• Organisational and time‑management skills to handle multiple projects.
• Proficiency in basic office software and digital tools for scheduling and record‑keeping.
• Prior experience in volunteer coordination or community development is an advantage.
• Diploma or degree in social sciences, community development, non‑profit management or related field preferred.
• Commitment to inclusivity, ethical conduct and respectful collaboration with diverse groups.
