Country Credit Manager (Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique, Ghana)

About the role

This full‑time, on‑site position based in Nairobi manages credit operations for Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique and Ghana. The Country Credit Manager will oversee credit policies, manage country‑specific credit portfolios and align credit activities with BURN’s financial and impact goals.

Key responsibilities

• Assess customer creditworthiness and monitor repayment performance across the four markets.
• Implement risk‑mitigation strategies and ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with sales, finance and operations teams to develop and refine credit frameworks.
• Report on key credit metrics and support market expansion through responsible credit practices.
• Provide guidance to local teams and continuously improve credit processes to sustain growth.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in credit management and credit risk management, including policy development and portfolio oversight.
• Solid foundation in finance with the ability to interpret financial data and support sound lending decisions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or related field; professional certifications are a plus.
• Experience managing multi‑country credit operations in emerging markets is highly beneficial.
