Country Head of Financial Institutions

About the role

Equity Bank is seeking a senior professional to lead its Financial Institutions sales across Kenya and the wider African region. The role will shape strategy, drive revenue growth and deepen relationships with institutional clients.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a sales strategy targeting banks, insurers, pension funds, asset managers and fintech firms.
• Lead a high‑performing sales team, mentor staff and build diverse talent pipelines.
• Collaborate with product, risk, operations and senior leadership to deliver integrated solutions.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and robust risk management practices.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in financial services, with at least 5 years in senior leadership within Global Markets or Institutional Sales.
• Established network with African financial institutions and proven track record in business development and revenue generation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related field; MBA or MSc is an advantage.
• Mandatory ACI Dealing Certificate.
