Deployable Emergency Response Manager

About the role

The Deployable Emergency Response Manager will be deployed, often at short notice, to Plan International’s MEESA country offices to lead humanitarian operations and ensure high‑quality, child‑focused programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead emergency programme implementation, develop response strategies, conduct rapid needs assessments and manage local partners.
• Represent Plan International with government stakeholders, coordinate in humanitarian forums and maintain donor relationships.
• Supervise finance, HR and logistics functions, ensure compliance with organisational systems and monitor security risks.
• Manage administrative, procurement and supply‑chain functions, coordinate emergency budgets and donor compliance.
• Lead emergency team structure, oversee performance management and embed safeguarding and gender equality policies.

Required profile

• Degree in management or related field with over 8 years of field experience managing emergency programmes.
• Demonstrated knowledge of humanitarian standards (SPHERE, CHS), child protection and disaster risk reduction.
• Experience working within the international humanitarian coordination system and securing funding.
• Ability to work in English and preferably another language such as French, Spanish, Portuguese or Arabic.
