Senior HR Officer – Performance Management & Employee Wellness

About the role

The Senior Human Resource Officer will lead the university’s performance management and employee wellness programmes, driving employee engagement, productivity and well‑being in line with strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and continuously improve performance management frameworks, policies and procedures.
• Coordinate the development, monitoring and evaluation of performance contracts and work plans.
• Provide guidance to supervisors on target‑setting, reviews, feedback and improvement plans.
• Identify performance gaps and lead interventions to boost individual and institutional productivity.
• Design, coordinate and assess employee wellness initiatives based on surveys and feedback.
• Monitor employee engagement activities and recommend actions to enhance motivation and retention.
• Prepare, monitor and report on budgets for performance management and wellness activities.
• Maintain accurate records and benchmark practices against industry standards.

Required profile

• Christian commitment and practice.
• Master’s degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent (or higher diploma/CHRP qualification).
• Minimum seven years of HR management experience, preferably in a similar organization.
• Membership of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) with a valid practising licence.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, planning and organisational abilities.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
