Director, Program and Sponsorship

About the role

The Program & Sponsorship Director provides strategic leadership for designing, implementing and evaluating ChildFund Kenya’s programmes and sponsorship initiatives. Reporting to the Country Director, the role shapes evidence‑based interventions that improve the lives of children, families and communities while ensuring responsible stewardship of donor resources.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, quality assurance, monitoring, evaluation and learning of integrated programmes.
• Oversee sponsorship performance, resource mobilization and partnership development.
• Drive innovation and ensure organizational impact aligns with ChildFund’s mission.
• Serve as principal advisor on programme strategy, impact, business development and technical excellence within the Senior Management Team.
• Manage large multidisciplinary teams to achieve programme objectives.

Required profile

• Post‑graduate qualification or technical specialization in Livelihoods, Humanitarian, Health, Child Protection, Education or International Development.
• Minimum 12 years of programme management experience in INGOs or development organisations.
• At least 5 years of senior leadership experience with a proven record of leading large, multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong understanding of evidence‑based programme design, monitoring and evaluation.
