Driver III – Transport Services

About the role

The National Gender and Equality Commission is seeking a Driver III to operate official vehicles, transport staff and documents, and ensure vehicle safety and compliance with organisational policies.

Key responsibilities

• Drive authorised vehicles safely and on schedule.
• Conduct routine inspections of cooling, oil, electrical, brake systems and tyre pressure.
• Detect and report mechanical faults and accidents promptly.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and daily work tickets.
• Ensure compliance with traffic laws and NGEC transport policies.

Required profile

• Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with at least a D+ grade.
• Valid driving licence for the required vehicle class, free of endorsements.
• Minimum three years of active driving experience.
• Pass Occupational Trade Test II for Drivers and suitability test Grade II (KIHBT).
• Defensive Driving Certificate from the Automobile Association of Kenya or equivalent.
• First‑Aid Certificate (minimum one‑week course) and a refresher driver course.
• Computer literacy and compliance with Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
