Driver (Open to Local Residents of Tana River County)

About the role

World Vision Kenya is looking for a driver to support its program staff and keep the fleet safe, healthy and economical. The role is open only to applicants who are local residents of Tana River County. It is a local fixed-term position.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate staff to and from work and other official duties, ensuring their safety and that of the vehicle during journeys
• Mobilize extra vehicles and drivers for key events such as donor visits, campaigns, evaluations and baselines
• Keep vehicles clean, maintain the movement log book, check mechanical soundness and arrange timely servicing
• Perform minor repairs, park at recommended areas, obey traffic laws and submit spare keys to fleet management
• Submit monthly vehicle reports, forward invoices and fuel returns, and report accidents for claims
• Deliver parcels and mail, liaise with service providers, and support community mobilization
• Handle bank transactions and other administration tasks

Required profile

• KCSE certificate
• At least 3 years' driving experience in class C1, C, CE, D3 or CD
• Basic knowledge of motor vehicle maintenance and computer literacy certificate
• Reference letter from the local chief
• Must be a local and resident of Tana River County
• First aid, defensive driving and NGO experience are advantages
