Electrical Engineering Trainer

About the role

The Machakos Institute of Technology is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Trainer to join its faculty. You will be responsible for delivering both theoretical lectures and hands‑on laboratory sessions to undergraduate students in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and practical lab sessions covering core electrical engineering concepts.
• Prepare schemes of work, detailed lesson plans, and update course materials to reflect current industry standards.
• Set, administer and mark examinations, ensuring fair and consistent assessment.
• Supervise student projects and capstone designs, providing technical guidance and feedback.
• Maintain workshop safety standards and ensure compliance with institutional policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or Bachelor of Education Technology in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
• Minimum three (3) years of teaching experience at the tertiary level.
• Excellent communication skills and strong command of the English language.
• Diploma in Technical Education from a recognised TVET institution (preferred).
