Embroidery Machine Operator and Digitizer

About the role

The Embroidery Machine Operator and Digitizer is a full‑time, on‑site position at Fortehouse Uniforms in Kiambu. The role involves setting up, operating and monitoring embroidery machines to produce high‑quality logos and designs on uniforms and related garments.

Key responsibilities

• Set up embroidery machines, select appropriate threads, and load garments.
• Digitize artwork into stitch‑ready files using embroidery software.
• Run test samples, adjust machine settings for accuracy, and ensure proper alignment.
• Inspect finished products for quality, identify defects, and maintain consistent standards.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor adjustments using hand tools.
• Keep the work area organized, safe and compliant with standard operating procedures.
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules and client specifications.

Required profile

• Ability to operate and monitor embroidery machinery.
• Strong quality‑control mindset and attention to detail.
• Experience with hand tools for machine setup and maintenance.
• Effective communication for coordinating with the team.
• Prior experience in embroidery, garment production or textile manufacturing (preferred).
• Willingness to stand for extended periods in a fast‑paced environment.
