Events & Media Analyst

About the role

The Africa Minigrid Developers Association (AMDA) is hiring a full-time, on-site Events & Media Analyst in Nairobi. The role coordinates AMDA's online and in-person events and strengthens the organisation's visibility through proactive media engagement and strategic sharing of its publications, research and thought leadership. It works closely with the Communications Analyst and the Communications & Partnerships Lead.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate AMDA's online and in-person events, including convenings
• Manage media relations and analyse media trends to strengthen visibility and stakeholder engagement
• Disseminate AMDA's publications, research and thought leadership
• Build relationships with journalists, media houses and industry platforms across Africa

Required profile

• Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field
• At least 3 years' professional experience in event management, communications, media relations or stakeholder engagement
• Experience coordinating conferences, workshops, webinars or large-scale events
• Experience working with journalists and media organisations
• Experience managing multiple projects under tight deadlines
• Experience with international organisations, development partners or the energy sector is an advantage
