Export Coordinator

About the role

Mars is hiring an Export Coordinator in Nairobi to join its Supply function. The role plans, organizes and directs all outbound logistics, coordinating and communicating logistics processes so finished goods reach customers on time and at the lowest possible cost. It also acts as a key contact for customers, building strong relationships and resolving delivery and logistics issues.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize and direct outbound logistics so export orders are shipped on time and export trucks meet Mars quality and food safety standards.
• Partner with government agencies such as KRA and the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce on export health inspections, certificate of origin authentication, TREO audits, monthly iTAX returns and KRA audits.
• Draft, implement and monitor SLAs and KPIs with clearing agents and transport service providers, and host routine reviews to correct performance deviations.
• Manage the KRA Transport Management System (ECTS) for export trucks, verify bill of lading drafts and coordinate with shipping lines on vessel scheduling.
• Manage intercompany invoicing, issue purchase requisitions and support new market product registrations with road and sea logistics solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or Economics.
• 2 to 5 years of functional experience in a supply chain environment.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, fluency in English, and the ability to work well under pressure and manage ambiguity.
