About the role
The Finance Assistant will support the ESARO Nairobi Office in maintaining accurate finance systems, providing timely financial information to senior managers, and ensuring smooth cash‑flow and payroll operations. This position works closely with the Finance Officer – Payroll and Payables and contributes to the overall efficiency of the regional finance team.
Key responsibilities
- Perform invoice reconciliation, verifying completeness, accuracy, and correct budget codes.
- Prepare payment runs in TM5 and coordinate bank signatory approvals.
- Process travel advances, TER reports, and hosting fee charges.
- Post bank entries and upload payroll files for bank approval.
- Support procurement of medical supplies, including voucher preparation and purchase pack reviews.
- Assist with audit preparation, documentation tracing, and internal control checks.
- Provide general finance administration support for the regional office and Kenya Country Office.
Required profile
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with financial data accurately.
- Good organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Experience in finance or accounting functions, preferably in a non‑profit or humanitarian setting.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a regional finance team.
Required skills
- Proficiency with TM5 finance software.
