Finance Manager

About the role

M-KOPA Kenya is seeking a hands‑on Finance Manager to own the financial management of its Kenya entity, driving financial rigor as the business scales its asset‑financing operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the monthly management reporting pack, executive commentary and IFRS 9 Expected Credit Loss model.
• Manage end‑to‑end monthly close including accruals, pre‑payments, intercompany, depreciation and FX.
• Produce variance analysis, monitor loan book performance, provision for bad debt and analyse repayment behaviour.
• Support statutory and regulatory reporting, funding documentation and due‑diligence processes.
• Partner with commercial teams to model unit economics, assess pricing, product launches and build financial cases for leadership.

Required profile

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CPA(K), ACCA, CA or equivalent) with senior finance management experience.
• Deep applied IFRS knowledge, especially IFRS 9, IFRS 16, IAS 21 and revenue recognition.
• Proven ability to manage audit processes from preparation to auditor queries.
• Exceptional financial modelling and communication skills, able to build complex multi‑scenario models in Excel.
