Financial Manager - International Hub

About the role

A nonprofit humanitarian aid organization is hiring a Financial Manager for its International Hub in Nairobi, reporting to the Director of International Programs. The role provides financial leadership and oversight for international operations, covering budgeting, financial reporting, internal controls, risk management and financial stewardship across international offices and programs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide financial leadership and strategic support to the International Hub and international offices, and help senior management with financial planning and decision-making
• Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation measures
• Lead efforts to strengthen and standardize financial management practices, systems, controls, workflows and reporting across international offices
• Drive annual budgeting, forecasting and financial planning; monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis
• Prepare and review consolidated financial reports, analyze performance and support donor reporting and grant management
• Review financial reports and budget utilization from country offices, and give technical guidance to country finance teams
• Ensure adherence to financial policies, donor requirements and delegated authority, and support internal and external audits

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible finance and accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities
• Experience with nonprofit, humanitarian or international development organizations is highly preferred
