Front Office Trainee Program

About the role

The Front Office Trainee Program at Villa Rosa Kempinski Nairobi offers a hands‑on learning experience within the Rooms Division, Front Office & Guest Services. Reporting to the Training Manager, the trainee will rotate through core front‑office functions to develop hospitality skills in a five‑star environment.

Key responsibilities

• Check‑in arriving guests, register them, assign rooms and accommodate special requests while adhering to Kempinski Experience Assessment standards.
• Process guest check‑out, verify payments, settle accounts, issue invoices and handle cash‑handling procedures.
• Perform front‑office cashier transactions, including posting charges, foreign‑currency exchange and end‑of‑shift cash float balancing.
• Respond to guest inquiries in person or by phone, provide information, and refer issues to appropriate departments.
• Coordinate room status updates with housekeeping, informing them of late check‑outs, early check‑ins and special requests.
• Maintain knowledge of reservation procedures, product and service offerings, and keep the work area tidy.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Hospitality/Hotel Management from a recognized institution.
• Recent graduate (less than one year since completion) and Kenyan citizen.
• Ability to work in a multinational environment with excellent grooming and professional etiquette.
• Strong communication skills, outgoing attitude and a positive learning mindset.
