German Language Teacher

About the role

Horizon Deutsch Centre Ltd is seeking a qualified German Language Teacher to join its team in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County. The role involves delivering interactive German lessons across all CEFR levels (A1‑C1) and preparing students for Goethe‑Zertifikat examinations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging German lessons for levels A1–C1 following CEFR guidelines.
• Prepare students for Goethe‑Zertifikat exams (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2).
• Assess student progress through tests, assignments, and feedback.
• Create teaching materials and adapt lessons for both online and physical classrooms.
• Maintain class records, attendance, and performance reports.
• Contribute to curriculum development and institute growth initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum qualification: Goethe‑Zertifikat C2 or equivalent near‑native proficiency.
• Diploma or degree in German, Education, Linguistics, or a related field is an advantage.
• At least 1 year of experience teaching German, preferably covering CEFR levels.
• Strong lesson‑planning, classroom‑management, and student‑assessment abilities.
• Excellent communication and cross‑cultural skills.
• Willingness to be based in or relocate to Kitale, Trans Nzoia County.
