About the role
Mercy Corps is seeking a motivated Graduate Intern for its People & Culture team in Nairobi. This 3‑month internship offers hands‑on experience across talent acquisition, HR administration, employee engagement and analytics within a dynamic humanitarian organization.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with recruitment tasks such as job postings, screening applications, scheduling interviews and communicating with candidates.
- Support onboarding processes, ensuring new‑hire documentation is complete and orientation sessions run smoothly.
- Maintain accurate employee records in HR systems, update staff databases, and track probation reviews and contract renewals.
- Help organise staff engagement, wellness and recognition activities that reinforce Mercy Corps’ values.
- Collect, analyse and report HR data, preparing dashboards and presentations for people‑analytics projects.
- Uphold safeguarding, ethics and compliance standards, protecting confidential information at all times.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Development, Industrial Relations or a related field, graduated within the last 12 months or awaiting graduation.
- Membership or progress toward a professional HR certification (e.g., CHRP‑K, IHRM) is an advantage.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a professional approach to confidential information.
- Ability to thrive in a diverse, multicultural environment with a growth mindset.
