Head of Engineering, Rewards

About the role

Moniepoint is building a dedicated Rewards platform that will drive retention and engagement for millions of users across Africa. As Head of Engineering, Rewards you will own the end‑to‑end technical vision, lead a growing engineering team and deliver a high‑performance consumer‑facing product.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the technical strategy, architecture and roadmap for the Rewards platform.
• Improve performance, reliability and depth of the existing cashback product as an immediate priority.
• Scale the engineering organisation from the current nine engineers to multiple product units of 25+ members.
• Establish a strong experimentation culture with A/B testing, cohort analysis and rapid measurement.
• Partner with Growth, Sales and Marketing to translate acquisition and retention goals into engineering initiatives.

Required profile

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 5 years leading engineering teams through growth phases.
• Proven track record building and shipping direct‑to‑consumer products at scale.
• Hands‑on technical leadership with regular coding involvement.
• Experience managing managers and scaling engineering organisations.
• Strong collaboration with commercial stakeholders to turn business objectives into technical work.
