About the role

The Head of Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) designs, governs, implements and continuously improves the Bank's FTP framework. It ensures accurate allocation of funding, liquidity and interest rate risk costs across business units, supports balance sheet optimisation and provides pricing signals for sustainable growth and prudent risk management. The role is the Bank's subject matter expert on FTP and advises Treasury, Finance, Business, ALCO and senior management.

Key responsibilities

  • Own and maintain the FTP framework in line with the ARO Funds Transfer Pricing Standard, internal governance and regulatory expectations, and develop, review and enhance FTP methodologies, policies, assumptions, controls and documentation.
  • Develop, maintain and communicate local currency and foreign currency FTP curves, incorporating funding costs, liquidity premiums and interest rate risk costs, and oversee curve updates and pricing changes.
  • Ensure accurate monthly FTP pricing and distribution, data integrity, reconciliations, validations and controls, and produce management information on FTP movements, profitability impacts and balance sheet drivers.
  • Engage with Business, Finance, Treasury and ARO Treasury Centre, explain FTP methodologies and their financial impact, and support business units in understanding funding and liquidity costs.
  • Use FTP to influence asset and liability behaviour, support balance sheet optimisation and provide forward-looking insights for growth and returns.
  • Support ALCO and senior management with FTP analysis, recommendations and decision support, and explain rate movements and profitability changes.
  • Lead continuous improvement of FTP methodologies and cost-allocation techniques, drive automation and process efficiency, and monitor industry practice and regulatory developments.

Required profile

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, statistics or a related discipline; postgraduate qualification in Finance, Risk, Economics or Business Administration is advantageous.
  • At least seven years of relevant banking experience, including exposure to balance sheet management, capital management, funding and liquidity, ALM, FTP, Treasury Finance or financial risk management.
  • Experience preparing submissions for Senior Management, ALCO, the Board or regulators, and in financial modelling, forecasting and management information.
  • Experience managing complex cross-functional deliverables and influencing senior stakeholders; people-management or team-leadership experience preferred.

Required skills

  • Strong knowledge of banking, financial markets, balance sheet management, prudential requirements, governance and control standards.
  • Advanced analytical, stakeholder-management and executive-communication skills.
