Head of HR

About the role

The Head of HR will align HR strategy and workforce planning with business growth, ensuring a capable and accountable people function that supports operational and safety priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute HR strategy, annual operating plan and budget, translating business needs into workforce plans and succession priorities.
• Lead talent acquisition, onboarding, succession planning and retention programmes for technical, operational and leadership roles.
• Oversee employee and industrial relations, including grievances, disciplinary processes, union engagement and constructive consultation.
• Drive performance management, objective setting, reviews and improvement plans linked to business outcomes.
• Manage compensation structures, benefits, payroll controls and monitor headcount, overtime and contractor costs.
• Maintain HR policies, contracts, records and ensure compliance with employment legislation and HSSE requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related field; professional HR qualification preferred.
• Minimum 10 years progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years leading an HR function.
• Experience in oil and gas or other high‑risk, asset‑intensive industries.
• Strong strategic thinking, stakeholder influence and ethical judgement.
