Head of ICT

About the role

Healthy U is looking for a Head of ICT to lead the organisation's ICT strategy, manage IT infrastructure and systems, oversee cybersecurity and ensure reliable technology services that support business operations. The role is full time, on-site in Nairobi, and requires a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field, with extensive experience in ICT management.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the ICT roadmap aligned with the company's business strategy and evaluate emerging technologies.
• Identify opportunities to use machine learning, robotics automation and artificial intelligence to improve efficiency, customer experience and revenue.
• Drive automation initiatives using AI to reduce manual processes and increase productivity.
• Oversee the design, implementation and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including operating systems, servers, PCs, software apps, telephony, e-commerce platforms, POS, ERP and CRM systems.
• Ensure stability, security and scalability of systems, with strong cybersecurity measures protecting customer and corporate data.
• Lead digital transformation, including omnichannel strategies that combine online and offline customer experiences.
• Support staff during system upgrades, installations, conversions and file maintenance, and help develop plans to improve client services and user effectiveness.
• Manage IT staff, including hiring, evaluation and training, and provide leadership, mentorship and coaching.
• Develop standard operating procedures, user and system manuals, licence agreements and documentation for upgrades.
• Negotiate with hardware and software suppliers, contract consultants and manage service agreements.
• Create budgets for projects and manage the financial aspects of the IT department, including purchases and ongoing budgeting.
• Run regular system audits, share operation reports with senior staff, set project timeframes and supervise major IT projects.
• Set departmental objectives and KPIs, review performance and liaise with other departments to bring best practices into the manufacturing environment.

Required profile

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• Extensive experience in ICT management.
