Head of Investments – Family Office

About the role

The Head of Investments will lead the investment function of a family office, overseeing both public and private market activities and managing a multi‑asset portfolio in partnership with the CEO and Board.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update the Investment Policy Statement, set strategic asset allocation, risk budget and liquidity targets.
• Oversee public‑market exposures, including listed equity, fixed income, currencies and hedge‑fund allocations, and manage relationships with brokers, custodians and research teams.
• Source, evaluate and execute private‑equity, venture, credit, real‑asset and infrastructure investments, leading due‑diligence and negotiation of fund documentation.
• Implement portfolio‑level risk monitoring, produce performance reports and ensure transparent reporting to the CEO, Board and shareholders.
• Build, mentor and manage a team of investment analysts, establishing research processes and knowledge‑management practices.
• Represent the firm with external advisers, banks, fund managers and at industry events, ensuring compliance with governance and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• 10‑12+ years of investment experience across public and private markets, with a proven track record in portfolio management and manager selection.
• Experience in fund management, discretionary portfolio management, equity research, and leading direct or co‑investment transactions.
• Strong understanding of investment structures, tax, regulatory and reporting considerations.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics or related field; CFA, MBA or equivalent strongly preferred.
