Head of IVD – Laboratory & In‑Vitro Diagnostics

About the role

The Head of IVD will lead Crown Healthcare Kenya’s Laboratory and In‑Vitro Diagnostics business, shaping strategy, driving growth and ensuring a coordinated commercial experience across the full IVD value chain.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the Laboratory/IVD business strategy, translating corporate objectives into commercial plans and identifying new markets, technologies and partnerships.
• Lead sales, pricing and margin discipline to achieve sustainable revenue and profitable growth for equipment, reagents and consumables.
• Build and maintain high‑value relationships with public and private hospitals, diagnostic labs, universities, NGOs and distributors, driving account growth and retention.
• Oversee equipment placements, installed‑base utilisation and reagent consumption, working with applications and technical teams to maximise recurring revenue.
• Provide strategic oversight of the product portfolio, identify gaps, assess competitive positioning and support new product introductions.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in the IVD or laboratory diagnostics sector.
• Strong commercial acumen combined with technical understanding of laboratory equipment and reagents.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement growth plans.
• Excellent people‑leadership skills and experience managing cross‑functional teams.
