Head of Programmes – Strategic Leadership Role

About the role

The Head of Programmes will provide strategic and operational leadership for the Foundation’s programme portfolio, ensuring the design, execution and scaling of high‑impact initiatives that deliver measurable economic and social outcomes. Reporting to the Executive Director, the role will operationalise the Foundation’s strategy and reinforce its position as a leader in inclusive economic growth and market‑systems development.

Key responsibilities

• Lead cross‑sector partnerships and build scalable delivery models.
• Mobilise resources and develop blended‑finance and catalytic funding structures.
• Strengthen organisational capability and embed a culture of execution excellence, accountability and innovation.
• Translate strategic objectives into measurable programme outcomes.
• Oversee governance, risk management, safeguarding and compliance across complex programmes.
• Engage with Boards, senior executives, government stakeholders and development partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Development Studies, Public Policy, Finance, International Development or a related field.
• Post‑graduate qualification (MBA, MPP, MSc or equivalent) preferred.
• 10–12 years progressive leadership experience in programme delivery, market‑systems development, enterprise development, philanthropy, financial inclusion or inclusive economic development.
• Proven track record of translating strategy into scalable execution and measurable outcomes.
• Experience managing complex multi‑sector programmes, partnerships and cross‑functional teams.
• Strong understanding of governance, risk management, safeguarding and compliance in institutional settings.
