Health Specialist – Adolescent Health (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

The Health Specialist (Adolescent Health) will provide strategic leadership, technical expertise and programmatic guidance to strengthen adolescent‑responsive health systems and services worldwide. The role works closely with governments, development partners, UNICEF regional and country offices to design, implement, monitor and scale evidence‑based programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and promote global frameworks, technical guidance, quality standards and tools for adolescent health.
• Support policy reform, institutional capacity strengthening and evidence generation across sexual and reproductive health, mental health, substance use prevention and disease prevention.
• Lead quality‑improvement initiatives at scale and contribute to multisectoral programming and strategic partnerships.
• Provide technical and strategic support to governments and UN agencies for programme planning, implementation, monitoring and knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in public health, global health, adolescent health, health systems, epidemiology, health policy or related field.
• Minimum eight years of progressively responsible experience in adolescent health, MNCAH, health‑systems strengthening or primary health care.
• Proven experience in designing, implementing and managing adolescent health programmes and multi‑country grants.
• Experience supervising multidisciplinary teams and working in low‑ and middle‑income, humanitarian or fragile settings.
