About the role
KEMRI is seeking PhD Fellows to conduct full‑time, on‑site research in Kilifi County, Kenya. Fellows will design and implement health research projects, from protocol development through data analysis and dissemination.
Key responsibilities
- Develop research protocols, collect and manage field or laboratory data.
- Perform statistical analysis, interpret results and prepare manuscripts, reports and presentations.
- Ensure compliance with ethical and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, attend seminars, and mentor junior researchers.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biomedical Sciences, Clinical Research or a related field.
- Strong research skills in study design, data collection and management.
- Experience with scientific writing for proposals, manuscripts and conference presentations.
- Critical thinking, problem‑solving and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
